Well, I am new at it. But when I opened it, I started with a $0 balance. I still am poor But, you can add you debit card to your account or you bank account as well. This way, every time someone pays you, it goes directly to the one you add (bank or card) but if you don't have any of them (like me) you can also save the money in your paypal account, and use it as real money but spend it only on things you buy on internet. Or, you can also request the paypal page to send you a check I hope you understand me
